Tips for Buying Kayak Thermals

We sell kayak clothing and thermals so you can keep warm and comfortable both on and off the water.

When selecting your layers, you'll want to take a look at the materials it's made from. Materials like polyester (fleece), and polypropylene will be best for wearing under a shell layer. These fabrics remain warm when wet by wicking moisture away from your skin, and drying quickly. Generally speaking, the thicker the fabric, the more insulation and warmth it will give you.

Items should of course be purchased at the correct size for you. Most manufacturers account for the movement of paddling and will cut their garments to allow for this (you do not need to buy a size up). You'll want your insulation layers to be form fitting and close to your skin. This will provide the most warmth and reduce bunching. For maximum performance and comfort, choose thermals that feature a 4-way stretch for increased freedom of movement.
