Tips for Buying Kayak Paddles

We have all types of kayak paddles. We have models for whitewater, multisport, and ocean.

Selecting the right length is very important. Basically, taller people will need to go longer, while shorter people will find shorter more comfortable to use. However it also depends on the type of paddling you'll be doing. Whitewater will require the shortest lengths (204-200cm), as this uses quicker, more vertical strokes. Multisport racers require slightly more length (204-214cm), for a longer and wider stroke style. For cruising out on the ocean, you'll generally prefer even longer lengths (215-220). It's a much more relaxed style and very long slow strokes.

Blade size is also one to consider, especially for racing use. Smaller blade sizes will provide a faster stroke rate, ideal for smaller built people and longer distances. Medium to large blade sizes will provide more power, but you may find this hard to maintain over longer distances.
