If you are an aspiring whitewater paddler, having a reliable roll is going to be an essential part of your skill set.

If you are are a multisport competitor, or thinking about doing the Kathmandu Coast to Coast, then having the ability to right yourself will help you improve much faster, plus boost your confidence and safety on race day.

If you can already roll but know it needs work, then a single session with us might be all you need to tidy up your technique and make it reliable for the river.

If you have no previous experience, we suggest booking in for 2-3 sessions, so you have enough time to see results.

Canterbury Kayaking got me to the Coast to Coast start line. Having never kayaked 9 months before race day, I enrolled in all Canterbury Kayaking's courses. There were so many skills I learnt, but one of best skills was rolling. As it turned out, I pulled of two successful rolls in the gorge saving me at least 30min and helping me gain my fantastic result! I know not everyone teaches it and its not compulsory, but its best the thing to learn for not only the obvious reasons, but also for just your general confidence in your boat!!
